“Too many brands have become complacent in accepting that fraud is just part of business, but it isn’t and doesn’t have to be. NoFraud is a tailor-made solution that can help any online business fight fraud.”
Stefano De Angelis, Project Manager @ Drop
Drop is a service provider that specializes in the development and management of eCommerce businesses. From advisory on best practices to managing fulfillment — and everything in between, Drop does it all. For over 20 years, Drop has been supporting merchants in developing and managing their omnichannel businesses. Named one of Europe’s top 1000 Fastest Growing Companies by the Financial Times, Drop has worked with mega-brands like Stella McCartney, Ducati, and Jil Sander.
Drop is an official partner of Adobe Magento and Shopify, and has managed NoFraud solutions for a range of retail clients.
A Growing Fraud Problem and a Need for Fraud Prevention
Drop was working with a brand that had a prominent presence in Asia, with its highest volume of sales coming from Japan. The Japanese market can be especially complex and effectively managing fraud would be key to keeping the client satisfied. Though they didn’t think a software solution existed that could help prevent fraud, a quick online search turned up a delightful surprise.
They landed on NoFraud and soon discovered the solution offered everything they needed to fight fraud on behalf of their clients — and even exceeded expectations with comprehensive fraud prevention coverage. Drop was impressed by the automated services that came with NoFraud Protection. And surpassing expectations, they valued the human oversight from NoFraud’s proactive review process, which helps businesses approve more (legitimate) orders.
The NoFraud solution as a whole was able to provide Drop the support they needed to manage a growing number of fraud cases across many clients.
$150,000 in Fraud BLOCKED in a Week!
Drop’s big client was about to launch a limited-run exclusive collection and it was the perfect time to put NoFraud to the test. The team leaned on NoFraud’s ability to prevent fraud using a powerful combination of robust analytics, diversified data sources, and expert human review to provide accurate pass/fail decisions in real-time.
With NoFraud, Drop was able to block 311 fraudulent orders within a week — worth over $150,000. Drop Project Manager, Stefano De Angelis says, “Too many brands have become complacent in accepting that fraud is just part of business, but it isn’t and doesn’t have to be. NoFraud is a tailor-made solution that can help any online business fight fraud.”
With their first test of NoFraud a $150,000 success, Drop decided it was time to roll out NoFraud across some of their other clients.
Effective Chargeback Protection: NoFraud is Our System of Record
The biggest issue the Drop team faces with its clients is chargebacks. Most of the chargebacks their clients’ customers will initiate cite they never placed the order. “If you don’t maintain a proper system of record, it’s impossible to win any of these cases,” says Stefano. “NoFraud is our system of record, and the main advantage is having total coverage of chargebacks across all brands.”
The team no longer has to worry about the added time and fees associated with chargebacks, and they’re able to effectively fight and win fraudulent chargeback cases for clients.
Easy Shopify Integration With a Built-in Fraud Support Team
Drop uses the NoFraud + Shopify integration which Stefano confirms is “very easy and simple — no developer work or knowledge is required!” The integration only took a few minutes to set up, and the success they saw with their first client has them planning to roll NoFraud out across other eCommerce platforms.
Even more, Stefano says, “We’ve worked with the same customer success manager since we onboarded, and she has been critical to our success. Lisa Washington (NoFraud Customer Success Manager) has been very involved in helping us stay ahead of fraud trends to prevent attacks for our clients.”
Stefano shares some advice for others who are looking for a fraud prevention solution, “Make sure you understand the service side of what your vendor offers. Ask questions on how they handle fraud emergencies or manage inquiries.” It’s very challenging to deal with fraud in a silo, so he says eCommerce businesses need to diligently check what goes on in the background and the full suite of services, not just what a vendor says they offer.
